The FOOD INDUSTRY IS NOT MADE UP OF FARMERS.....
FOOD INCORPORATED: 80% of the food items found in America's largest grocery retailers are packaged, processed and preserved food items designed for consumer convenience and a long shelf life. Generally they are located in the front and center of the store. The other 20% are what I consider the REAL or whole foods, (produce, nuts, grains, oils, fish and meat). These items are typically located on the perimeter of the store in a big U shape. This is where I shop mostly. While traveling abroad I noticed it’s the direct opposite. Most grocery stores in France, Spain, Germany, or Italy are jam packed with wholesome ingredients direct from farmers and producers with very little fake foods in between.
FAKE FOOD: The center aisle items are typically prepackaged, processed, packed with preservatives, additives and other unpronounceable ingredients. These foods tend to be nutrient deficient, designed and marketing for the sole purpose of your convenience and making a healthy profit. This multi billion-dollar industry does not concern itself with your health. They want things to taste good so you will buy it regardless of any harm it might cause. These fake foods can legally contain some of the following FDA approved non-food or nutritionally dead ingredients: GMO or GE ingredients such as corn, soy, beet sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and Hydrogenated Oils, Sodium Nitrate, BHA/BHT, MSG, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Bromate, Aspartame, Sodium Chloride, added trans fat, Olestra, rBGH, Butane, Carrageenan, Propyl Parabens, Aluminum… all of which have been linked to disease and some have been banned in other countries. REAL CONVENIENCE FOOD: The good news is there are a lot more companies these days who have focussed on creating convenience foods that are actually good for you. Pioneering companies like Artisan Bistro, Amy's Kitchen, Nature's Path, Cascadian Farms, Lean Cuisine and EVOL are offering high quality organic frozen foods that are easy to prepare and store. Amy's in particular is currently the strongest leader, offering vegan and vegetarian meals that are all 100% organic and non-GMO with gluten free options. They have opened two drive through "fast food" stores in Northern California that are paving the way for a the healthy "grab and go" industry! |

To me the worst food offense in modern time...was the creation of Genetically Modified or Engineered foods. They have not been tested properly for safety before being approved by the FDA. And in 2016, the World Health Organization stated that GMOs could be dangerous to humans as a possible carcinogen. Ironic that chemical and drug companies such as Monsanto, Syngenta and Bayer that have been behind the scene of your food supply chain. A food that is actually making people sick! The creators of DDT and Agent Orange have been in the agriculture business for over 25 years. And with the introduction of this type of agriculture, there has been a mappable increase in food related illness over time. Science has linked medical conditions, such as Celiac, ADHD, Gluten sensitivity, autism, alzheimer's, dementia, depression, MS, Parkinson's and rheumatoid arthritis, with the advent of GMO seeds and the massive spraying of Glyphosate in the USA. For this reason, I avoid ALL GMO/GE and glyphosate contaminated foods AND the animal products that were fed GE grains and grasses.
SOME GOOD NEWS: As of November 2016 Sonoma is the sixth California county, after Marin, Humboldt, Mendocino, Santa Cruz and Trinity to BAN the growing of GMO crops!!!! Mendocino's ban was the first in the United States.
